Jon Belsher is the President and Chief Operating Officer of UCI Medical Affiliates in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, Jon is able to leverage his expertise in healthcare innovation and leadership as he helps steer UCI into a new era of healthcare excellence. His extensive and diverse background in leadership and disruptive innovation make him the ideal fit for UCI Medical Affiliates.
Jon Belsher formerly served as the Chief Medical Officer of MedSpring Urgent Care, an aggressively expanding urgent care company founded in 2011. With significant growth to over 42 centers across five large metropolitan markets, Jon’s experience exemplifies his competency and success in both the business and medical fields. He enjoys helping to reshape the healthcare industry through technological innovation and outside-the-box thinking. Jon Belsher is particularly drawn to innovations in mobile health technology, telehealth, artificial intelligence (AI), precision medicine, predictive analytics, volume to value transitions and risk.

Early in his career, Jon served as a liaison between the White House and the President and Vice President during the George W. Bush administration. He briefed and accompanied the President, Vice President, and other dignitaries on national and international trips as Advance Representative for the White House.
Following the White House, Jon set out for a career in healthcare. As a visionary leader, he wanted to help shepherd medicine through the vast changes underway today. Maxwell, a speaker and author, perfectly describes Jon’s desires to help others in the scope of healthcare and philanthropy.
Jon attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree, before completing his residency at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ, and fellowship at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN. During this time, Jon Belsher was awarded “Teacher of the Year” twice and the prestigious “Chief Fellow” award.
Over the course of his career, Jon Belsher has served as Staff Intensivist and Assistant Professor with Scott & White Healthcare; Director of Medical Operations for the start-up and for-profit company, WhiteGlove Health; and Chief Medical Officer for Extensor Health, a company focused on delivering specialist care via telemedicine.
Jon Belsher also served as Chief of Aerospace Medicine for the Arizona Air National Guard’s 162nd Fighter Wing. As a Lieutenant Colonel, Jon Belsher actively managed flight surgeons, medical providers, physician assistants, and nurses. He credits his rapid climb through the military ranks to his strong leadership skills and prowess.
